UNITY PARK

Unity Park

Unity Park is a beautiful public space located inside the National Palace area in Addis Ababa. It used to be a private government site but was opened to the public in 2019. The park features old historic buildings, museums, gardens with native plants, and a small zoo with local animals.


Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed led the project to create Unity Park as part of his goal to bring people together and celebrate Ethiopia’s diversity. The park represents unity and progress and is a place where both locals and tourists can learn about Ethiopia’s culture and history.


Today, Unity Park is a peaceful and enjoyable place to visit. It offers a mix of history, culture, and nature, with exhibitions, wildlife, gardens, and places to relax, all showing Ethiopia’s pride and unity as envisioned by Dr. Abiy and his government.


SCIENCE MUSEUM

Science Museum

The Science Museum in Addis Ababa is a modern landmark dedicated to fostering innovation and scientific discovery. Opened in 2022 near the National Palace, it was designed to engage visitors of all ages with interactive exhibits on science, technology, and modern advancements, reflecting Ethiopia’s ambition for a knowledge-based future.


Inside, the museum features hands-on displays on AI, robotics, aviation, and climate change. It also boasts a state-of-the-art planetarium and creative learning zones, blending education with entertainment. The Science Museum is a vibrant hub for locals and tourists alike, inspiring curiosity and showcasing Ethiopia's commitment to progress.



ADWA 00KM

Adwa 00KM

The Adwa 00KM Project in Addis Ababa is a large cultural and historical center built to honor Ethiopia’s important victory at the Battle of Adwa in 1896. It is located in the Piassa area of the Arada district. The site includes the Adwa Memorial Museum, an amphitheater, libraries, meeting halls, youth centers, and parking areas. This project celebrates Ethiopia’s courage, promotes unity across Africa, and preserves the country’s rich history.


The main attraction, the Adwa 00KM Museum, opened in early 2024. It has a unique design that includes Ethiopian symbols and themes from the battle. Inside, the museum shows historical artifacts, videos, and interactive displays that tell the story of the battle and Ethiopia’s resistance against colonization. It is a place for learning, research, and tourism, attracting visitors from Ethiopia and around the world.



ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM

Ethnographic Museum​

The Ethnographic Museum in Addis Ababa, located on the Addis Ababa University campus in the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, showcases Ethiopia’s rich cultural diversity. Established in the 1950s, it serves as an important center for preserving and studying the traditions of the country’s many ethnic groups.


The museum features a wide range of artifacts, including traditional clothing, musical instruments, religious items, and artworks. Its exhibits are organized around stages of life, making the experience engaging and easy to understand. Visitors can also see rooms preserved from the imperial era and beautiful surrounding gardens, making it a great place to explore Ethiopia’s history and culture.




NATIONAL MUSEUM

National Museum

The National Museum in Addis Ababa is one of Ethiopia’s most important cultural landmarks, situated near the Addis Ababa University campus. Established in the late 1950s, the museum was created to safeguard and showcase the nation’s archaeological, artistic, and historical treasures. Its four-story building offers a journey through Ethiopia’s past, from the early days of human evolution to the country’s rich imperial and artistic heritage.


Inside, visitors can marvel at world-famous discoveries, including the cast of “Lucy,” the ancient hominid that transformed our understanding of human origins. The basement features fossils and archaeological finds. Upper floors display ancient royal artifacts, religious icons, traditional art, contemporary paintings, and ethnographic collections that highlight Ethiopia’s cultural diversity. The museum is well-signposted in English and provides guides, making it accessible and engaging for both tourists and locals eager to explore Ethiopia's story




ENTOTO PARK

Entoto Park

Entoto Park is a major green space on Mount Entoto, just north of Addis Ababa. Created through recent revitalization efforts, it offers stunning city views, cool mountain air, and peaceful forest scenery, making it a popular escape from urban life.


Visitors can enjoy walking and cycling trails, playgrounds, adventure activities like zip-lining and archery, cafes, scenic gardens, and historic attractions including Entoto Mariam Church. With free entry to the main park and activities for all ages, Entoto Park is a favorite spot for both locals and tourists seeking nature, recreation, and culture.
