    EDITORIAL

The editorial tries to reflect participants of the 41st AEAA conference using different pictures and their emotions snipping their photos, discussions, and videos recorded from different team leaders and media. The LOC believed that tours offered a refreshing break from the conference halls, providing a unique opportunity to experience the host countries. Ethiopia the 41st conference hosting country is rich in heritage and dynamic landscapes. From ancient history to modern-day monuments, the delegates gained a profound appreciation for the host nation in Addis Ababa tourist centers. The organizing committee believed the tours ran seamlessly, providing a safe and memorable experience for everyone in collaboration with Addis Ababa City Administration. The delegates split into three groups to explore some of Addis Ababa's most significant sites: Unity Park, Adwa 00km Memorial Museum & Ethnographic Museum in Addis Ababa University, and the National Museum and Entoto Park. The tours followed a scenic route through the city, passing landmarks like Meskel Square and Churchill Avenue.

  Unity Park

The tour began with an insightful exploration of the historic palaces within the National Palace grounds, followed by visits to the aquarium and the zoological garden, which is home to a variety of animals and birds native to Ethiopia. Here below some of the reflections.

Adwa 00km Memorial Museum

The visit to the Adwa 00km Memorial Museum was a powerful experience for many. The delegates were deeply impressed by the statues of the twelve military commanders and the exhibits highlighting the historic Battle of Adwa. Visitors noted that learning about the Treaty of Addis Ababa and the subsequent release of prisoners added a profound human dimension to the victory. Many were particularly inspired by the often-overlooked contributions of women during the war, seeing them as truly admirable and a source of inspiration. The museum reinforced the powerful message that the victory was a unified national effort involving all Ethiopians. The fascinating detail that the museum serves as the symbolic "kilometer zero" for all distances in Ethiopia left a lasting impression. Here below are some Photos of visitors.

Ethnographic Museum at AAU 

The excursion to the Addis Ababa University compound was a unique experience, with the Ethnographic Museum housed within the former Genete Leul Palace of Emperor Haile Selassie. Visitors were fascinated by the building's dual identity as a former imperial palace and a leading university, which added incredible depth to the visit. The exhibition of Ethiopia’s diverse cultures, alongside relics from its imperial past, was a surprising and unforgettable highlight for many.

A Glimpse into the Cradle of Humanity: The National Museum

At the renowned National Museum, delegates were awe-struck by the display of Ethiopia’s ancient treasures.

The highlight for many was seeing the famous fossil of "Lucy" (Dinkinesh), the 3.2-million-year-old hominid skeleton, which provides a direct connection to the very cradle of humankind. The museum's collections, which span from prehistoric times to royal regalia, offered invaluable insights into Ethiopia’s ancient civilizations and its significant contributions to human origins.

  Entoto Natural Park

For those seeking a breath of fresh air, the visit to Entoto Park provided a serene and revitalizing experience. Located on the Entoto Mountains, the park offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Delegates enjoyed exploring the walking paths and relaxing in the well-maintained green spaces, describing the park as a beautiful escape into nature with stunning views.

The day concluded with all delegates returning to the Skylight Hotel, inspired and with a deeper appreciation for Ethiopia's monumental role in African history and its natural beauty.
